Cacá da Rocha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luís Guilherme Mattos came out of the goal in the 11th minute to try and stop a shot by Sousel EC's Romário Urbano. But to his dismay, Romário Urbano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Flavinho de Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Guilherme Mattos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Flavinho de Brito went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Wilian Dante charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilian Dante the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 30th minute, Wilian Dante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luís Guilherme Mattos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romário Urbano, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romário Urbano in the 35th minute of play forced Jacovense's goalkeeper Luís Guilherme Mattos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Sousel EC's goalkeeper Nilmar Leme had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cacá da Rocha. A collision led to Jacovense getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Norberto Sousa hit a great ball. Luís Guilherme Mattos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Romário Urbano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Guilherme Mattos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romário Urbano in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Romário Urbano was the one to do the kick off. When Flavinho de Brito came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Sousel EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flavinho de Brito couldn't finish the play. Luís Guilherme Mattos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romário Urbano in the 65th minute of the match. In the 65th match minute, Jacovense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cacá da Rocha to maneuver through the defense. Sousel EC's Nilmar Leme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Carioca in the 70th minute of play. When Paulo Carioca fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jacovense's protests and gave Paulo Carioca a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Jacovense getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Paulo Carioca hit a great ball. Flavinho de Brito made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 73rdth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Luís Guilherme Mattos would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Luís Guilherme Mattos made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Flavinho de Brito sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cacá da Rocha in the 91st minute of play forced Sousel EC's goalkeeper Nilmar Leme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jacovense's Luís Guilherme Mattos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Jacovense from getting a goal against them. Cacá da Rocha kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. The Jacovense supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Sousel EC's performance. The match ended with a win for Sousel EC.
