Spectators: 7195 (Terracing: 5398, Seating: 1654, VIP seats: 143) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Germano Mota started the match with the kick off. In the 4th minute, Marco de Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 6 played minutes, Santiago Soldiers FC's Alan da Silva shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Diguinho Cunha came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Santiago Soldiers FC reached it. In the 8th minute, Borba's Marco de Senna seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Marco de Senna the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Borba protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Marco de Senna had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 11th minute there was a penalty for Santiago Soldiers FC. Alan da Silva stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Diguinho Cunha. 0-1. Santiago Soldiers FC's Conrado Duarte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Santiago Soldiers FC from getting a goal against them. Alan da Silva blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Diguinho Cunha having to make a save. Alan da Silva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 31 minutes into the match, Santiago Soldiers FC's goal looked a bit too open when Danilo Pinheiro came free, but Conrado Duarte reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Germano Mota in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Diguinho Cunha prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 38th minute Germano Mota shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diguinho Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfredo de Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Conrado Duarte made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wilson Fernandez in the 43rd minute. After the first half Santiago Soldiers FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wilson Fernandez was the one to do the kick off. In the 50th minute, Germano Mota hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Wilson Fernandez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. André Vaabel kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Alan da Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santiago Soldiers FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alan da Silva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diguinho Cunha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Diguinho Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alan da Silva in the 62nd minute of play. Diguinho Cunha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Germano Mota in the 65th minute. In the 67th minute Wilson Fernandez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Conrado Duarte saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Wilson Fernandez fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Borba's protests and gave Wilson Fernandez a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Borba's Wilson Fernandez got a free kick in the 71st minute. Germano Mota took the ball and in the 80 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Diguinho Cunha. Diguinho Cunha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Germano Mota recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Santiago Soldiers FC's Germano Mota came free and shot a quick shot against goal 85 minutes in the game, fortunately Diguinho Cunha had problems saving as it came toward the left post. In the 87th match minute, Santiago Soldiers FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamim Meira to maneuver through the defense. Danilo Pinheiro's late challenge caught a Santiago Soldiers FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Danilo Pinheiro helped the player get up and apologised. Danilo Pinheiro hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Diguinho Cunha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Germano Mota in the 93rd minute. 97 minutes into the match, Borba's goal looked a bit too open when Alan da Silva came free, but Diguinho Cunha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Santiago Soldiers FC were awarded a corner in the 98th minute after Borba's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Alan da Silva took the corner.
