When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zé Pedro Godoi made a kick off. Passaros's Mário Vieira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edinho Cardozo in the 56th minute of play. In the 59th minute, Edinho Cardozo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kauan Negri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Vieira having to interfere. When Rafinha Dionísio fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Passaros's protests and gave Rafinha Dionísio a yellow card for diving instead. Rafinha Dionísio hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Natã de Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Japuim EC's Miguel Arósio got control of the ball when Humberto Valadares tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mário Vieira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Edinho Cardozo might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Mário Vieira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edinho Cardozo ran back to his position shaking his head. When Zé Pedro Godoi came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Japuim EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Pedro Godoi couldn't finish the play. 98 minutes into the match, Humberto Valadares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Miguel Arósio. Japuim EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Humberto Valadares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1.
