In the 18th minute of the match, Sílvio Luís Guedes got a very nice opportunity to score, but Juninho Maranhense was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Elder Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ρ Λ Ν D O Я Λ's supporters rose to their feet, but Elder Azevedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sílvio Luís Guedes in the 60th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Juninho Maranhense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 63rd minute of the game. One of Ρ Λ Ν D O Я Λ:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Juiz de Fora Team:s goal. The goalkeeper, Chico Diniz, was totally fooled by Juiz de Fora Team's Jano da Silva, who 64 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Evaristo de Alcântara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Chico Diniz made a huge save. Edinho Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Chico Diniz having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Léo Zanette made a precise shot to the right of Juninho Maranhense. Juiz de Fora Team's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1.
