The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Ricardinho Ramalho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Zézinho Prata went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Oswaldo Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Amadeu Sena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anselmo Arósio did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Amadeu Sena 18 minutes into the match. In the 32nd minute of the match Pedro Luís Tróia shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardinho Ramalho showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dieguinho Rodrigues in the 36th minute of play forced Zaion F.C.'s goalkeeper Ricardinho Ramalho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38thth minute of the game Dieguinho Rodrigues who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Zaion F.C.'s Ricardinho Ramalho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Oswaldo Soares came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Zaion F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oswaldo Soares couldn't finish the play. Oswaldo Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Sena having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Enrique Rocha during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Madridista FC getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Enrique Rocha hit a great ball. Dieguinho Rodrigues sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dieguinho Rodrigues to make the kick off. In the 55th minute, Zézinho Prata got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 58 in the game by Zézinho Prata from a close distance when the talented Ricardinho Ramalho managed to make a qualified save. Zaion F.C.'s players were relieved. Ricardinho Ramalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dieguinho Rodrigues in the 61st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Zaion F.C.'s zone, Zézinho Prata stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardinho Ramalho came out of the goal and Zézinho Prata tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 71 played minutes Zaion F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Paulo José Mendonça. 74 minutes into the game, Giovani Medeiros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zaion F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Madridista FC the free kick. After having played for 74 minutes, Dieguinho Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Madridista FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dieguinho Rodrigues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Anselmo Arósio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardinho Ramalho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zézinho Prata's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
