Spectators: 7195 (Terracing: 5398, Seating: 1654, VIP seats: 143) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Anselmo Arósio took the kick off in the first half of the match. With a little luck, Itaperapoan SS's Bernardinho Gerber got control of the ball when Oswaldo Soares tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ricardinho Ramalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Percival Macedo in the 8th minute of the match. When Oswaldo Soares came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Zaion F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oswaldo Soares couldn't finish the play. Dito Pena hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. 0-1 became the score in the 23rd minute when Percival Macedo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When Oswaldo Soares came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Zaion F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oswaldo Soares couldn't finish the play. Oswaldo Soares came free with the goalkeeper in the 33rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Bernardinho Gerber could save by the left post. Rafael Souto hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. In the 39th minute of the match Zaion F.C. got a corner. Itaperapoan SS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ernani Coutinho ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Ernani Coutinho got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Bernardinho Gerber quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 48th minute, Eugênio Xavier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half Itaperapoan SS were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Percival Macedo to strike the kick off in the second half. Ricardinho Ramalho made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Eugênio Xavier sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 56 minutes, Rafael Souto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zaion F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Rafael Souto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 58th minute Anselmo Arósio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardinho Gerber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Eugênio Xavier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ricardinho Ramalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Percival Macedo in the 70th minute of play. 71 minutes into the game, Rafael Souto was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zaion F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Itaperapoan SS the free kick. After 71 played minutes Zaion F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Souto. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eugênio Xavier got free with Ricardinho Ramalho in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Eugênio Xavier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernardinho Gerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Arósio in the 77th minute of play. Bernardinho Gerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oswaldo Soares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Anselmo Arósio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardinho Gerber having to interfere. Marcos Mandrak received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ricardinho Ramalho came out and tried to block the shot, but Marcos Mandrak slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 87th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valério Marques during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 90th minute, Valério Marques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Percival Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardinho Ramalho having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Itaperapoan SS had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
