In the 22nd minute Arí Cerezo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Rosado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edgar Rosado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Velloso in the 24th minute of play. Carlos Eduardo Montenegro made a fantastic save in the 25th minute, when Murillo Furtado sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 37 minutes, Márcio de Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Divino's supporters crossed their fingers, but Márcio de Alcântara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arí Cerezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edgar Rosado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arí Cerezo in the 41st minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Alberto Velloso to make the kick off. 54 minutes had been played when some careless play by Chucky's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Zé Pedro Arantes was slow to take the kick. During this time Divino's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Zé Pedro Arantes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Chucky's Edgar Rosado did a great save. Márcio de Alcântara hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jonas de Amaral during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Chucky's Jonas de Amaral got a free kick in the 58th minute. Carlos Eduardo Montenegro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Murillo Furtado in the 61st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abelardo Dante in the 65th minute of play forced Divino's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Montenegro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edmílson Sousa's late challenge caught a Divino's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edmílson Sousa helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 70th minute of the game. One of Chucky:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Divino:s goal. The goalkeeper, Edgar Rosado, was totally fooled by Divino's Zé Pedro Arantes, who 72 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Carlos Eduardo Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Murillo Furtado in the 76th minute of play. Chucky's Edmílson Sousa got his second yellow card of the match in the 77th minute. The referee ordered Edmílson Sousa off the ground. Edmílson Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. The audience held their breath when Guto Aguiar in the 79th minute of the game managed to trick the opponents defenses and fired away a shot outside the goal on the Edgar Rosado's left hand side. In the 81st minute, Arí Cerezo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Toninho Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chucky's supporters rose to their feet, but Toninho Botelho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Eduardo Montenegro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Divino players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
