Bruninho Novaes hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Bruninho Linhares was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 7th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Sophia AJ Clube's Bruninho Novaes got a free kick in the 8th minute. Abelardo Dante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Abelardo Dante's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Richard Baptista was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Elivélton Moreira kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Abelardo Dante made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by César Santana in the 51st minute of play forced Chucky's goalkeeper Edgar Rosado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 53 minutes into the match, Chucky's Abelardo Dante sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Richard Baptista narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Edgar Rosado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Netto in the 61st minute of play. César Santana's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Edgar Rosado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. Abelardo Dante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Richard Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute Manuel Netto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edgar Rosado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Murillo Furtado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Richard Baptista having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Chucky's zone, Manuel Netto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edgar Rosado came out of the goal and Manuel Netto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chucky's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
