But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hernani Capixaba couldn't finish the play. 14 minutes into the game, Durvalino de Sousa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vista's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Millwall FC the free kick. In the 14th match minute, Vista was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Durvalino de Sousa to maneuver through the defense. In the 15th minute, Hernani Capixaba ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Waldemar Sampaio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vista's goalkeeper Waldemar Sampaio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Millwall FC's Hernani Capixaba in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After taking down the ball on Millwall FC's corner Nestor de Lima fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Waldemar Sampaio quite easily take care of the ball. Waldemar Sampaio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zonta, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

53 minutes into the match, Millwall FC's goal looked a bit too open when Durvalino de Sousa came free, but Gustavo Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hernani Capixaba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Waldemar Sampaio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 60 played minutes Vista got a freekick which was hit by Juan Arruda. If Daniel Zonta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hernani Capixaba sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hernani Capixaba got free with Waldemar Sampaio in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Durvalino de Sousa might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gustavo Proença. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Durvalino de Sousa ran back to his position shaking his head. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Juan Arruda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vista's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan Arruda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gustavo Proença breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hernani Capixaba kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. In the 89th minute, Álvaro de Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daniel Zonta hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Millwall FC's Nestor de Lima got a free kick in the 96th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Juan Arruda in the 97th minute of play forced Millwall FC's goalkeeper Gustavo Proença to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle went the supporters of Millwall FC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Vista side.
