Falcão Pirani took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Clemente Almeida. Clemente Almeida dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. 26 minutes into the match, União Esperança - standby's goal looked a bit too open when Paulo Renato Prestes came free, but Durval Pirani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arapuá FC.'s Clemente Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Falcão Pirani in the 30th minute of play. Eliseo Mirande hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. Doriva Pombal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Durval Pirani having to make a save. If Doriva Pombal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, one of Arapuá FC.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Arapuá FC.. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Renato Prestes was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Arapuá FC. booed when União Esperança - standby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position.
