Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ricardinho Batista in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valdemar Seco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Bahia getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Vânderson Andrade hit a great ball. João Francisco Bastos struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Reginaldo Matos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tribobo SS. Eusébio Carneiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reginaldo Matos having to interfere. With a little luck, Bahia's Reginaldo Matos got control of the ball when Guga Paes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Valdemar Seco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardinho Batista, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manfredo das Neves couldn't finish the play. Valdemar Seco was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Virgílio Baiano showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-3 in the 81 minute of play. After 84 minutes of play Bahia's Valdir Lucas was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground.
