Ismael Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to ELITE DO MZ getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Maurício Nascimento hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ismael Paiva in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Diogo Melo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 23 minutes into the match, SC Corinthians Paulista's goal looked a bit too open when Maurício Nascimento came free, but Délio Vieira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ismael Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diogo Melo having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Ismael Paiva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diogo Melo was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. 32 minutes into the match, SC Corinthians Paulista's goal looked a bit too open when Maurício Nascimento came free, but Délio Vieira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute, Ismael Paiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Délio Vieira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gernando Carneiro in the 46th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Diogo Melo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ismael Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 64th minute, Zé Augusto Fernandes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Corinthians Paulista fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Víktor Cosme charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Víktor Cosme the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Diogo Melo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ismael Paiva's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. Ismael Paiva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diogo Melo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. After 88 minutes, Ismael Paiva made it 4-3 with a short kick to the right side. ELITE DO MZ's Diogo Melo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
