In the 3rd minute of the match, Gernando Carneiro got a very nice opportunity to score, but Percy Brodel was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 6th minute Evaristo de Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diogo Melo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to ELITE DO MZ getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Luizão Maranhense hit a great ball. Diogo Melo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dráuzio Bittencourt in the 9th minute of play. ELITE DO MZ's Gernando Carneiro has a good shot, but didn't show it this time. The shot went over the crossbar in the 10th minute. Percy Brodel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maurício Nascimento in the 11th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gernando Carneiro in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Percy Brodel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gernando Carneiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 22 minutes into the game, Luizão Maranhense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ELITE DO MZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Belford Roxo Football the free kick. Percy Brodel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luizão Maranhense in the 29th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Maurício Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot. ELITE DO MZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Maurício Nascimento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Percy Brodel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Maurício Nascimento made the kick off in the second half. Luizão Maranhense was shown his second yellow card after 52 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Luizão Maranhense kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. ELITE DO MZ's Diogo Melo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save ELITE DO MZ from getting a goal against them. Diogo Melo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evaristo de Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute, Belford Roxo Football's Evaristo de Mendonça dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Dráuzio Bittencourt made in the 69th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Ruy Antunes immediately put the ball in play. After having played for 71 minutes, Gernando Carneiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ELITE DO MZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gernando Carneiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gernando Carneiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Percy Brodel having to interfere. Percy Brodel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gernando Carneiro's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. In the 82nd minute, ELITE DO MZ's Ronaldinho Paraense seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Ronaldinho Paraense the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of ELITE DO MZ protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Ronaldinho Paraense had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. One of ELITE DO MZ:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Belford Roxo Football:s goal. Thomás Soares hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute, Maurício Nascimento left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ELITE DO MZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. ELITE DO MZ's Diogo Melo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Fernando Arce in the 99th minute of play.
