Ademir Tróia was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 3 minutes into the match. 3 minutes into the game, one of Caviuna EC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 5th minute there was a penalty for Swat do bairro. Nilson Maranhense stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cauã Braga. 0-1. After some careless play in the Caviuna EC defense, Benedito Romero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cauã Braga. The Caviuna EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cauã Braga should have stopped the shot. After 15 played minutes Caviuna EC got a freekick which was hit by Geovânio Baiano. In the 17th minute, one of Caviuna EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Caviuna EC. In the 19th minute there was a penalty for Swat do bairro. Nilson Maranhense stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cauã Braga. 0-3. Cauã Braga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ulisses de Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Cauã Braga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedito Romero in the 24th minute of the match. 32 minutes in the game, Renato Rosa fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Ediberto Duarte having to interfere. Ulisses de Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Cauã Braga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benedito Romero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Augusto de Moraes hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. If Renato Rosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Cauã Braga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulisses de Sena in the 56th minute of play. Benedito Romero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cauã Braga having to interfere. If Ulisses de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 69th minute, Benedito Romero fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Cauã Braga, passed just outside the right post. Swat do bairro's Ulisses de Sena got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Caviuna EC booed when Swat do bairro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Augusto de Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 76th minute, when Swat do bairro's Simão Ferraz after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Cauã Braga in Caviuna EC's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. After a defensive mix-up in Caviuna EC's zone, Benedito Romero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cauã Braga came out of the goal and Benedito Romero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benedito Romero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Cauã Braga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 84th match minute, Caviuna EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jardel Freitas to maneuver through the defense. In the 87th minute, Carlos Augusto de Moraes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Renato Rosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Swat do bairro's Vitório Silva got a free kick in the 92nd minute. When the final whistle sounded Swat do bairro left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Caviuna EC.
