Lino Amorim helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of BIRMINGHAM booed when Sete Pecados Capitais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lino Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Rony Cardoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. BIRMINGHAM's Perivaldo Aparecido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lino Amorim in the 14th minute of play. Perivaldo Aparecido made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paulão Trevisan in the 19th minute. After some careless play in the Sete Pecados Capitais defense, Alfredinho Pitta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ediberto Paraibano. The Sete Pecados Capitais fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ediberto Paraibano should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Rony Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot. BIRMINGHAM's supporters rose to their feet, but Rony Cardoso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ediberto Paraibano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 27 minutes into the game, Yuri Maia was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sete Pecados Capitais's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BIRMINGHAM the free kick. After a rather tough play, Sete Pecados Capitais's Yuri Maia got a free kick in the 27th minute. Perivaldo Aparecido made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Paulão Trevisan sent off a good shot on target. Lino Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Alfredinho Pitta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ediberto Paraibano having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Rony Cardoso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ediberto Paraibano was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. In the 45th minute Alfredinho Pitta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ediberto Paraibano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 played minutes Sete Pecados Capitais got a freekick which was hit by Paulão Trevisan. After the first half BIRMINGHAM were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lino Amorim to make the kick off. With a little luck, Sete Pecados Capitais's Ediberto Paraibano got control of the ball when Rony Cardoso tried to sneak it across the goal line. 65 minutes into the match, Sete Pecados Capitais's Lino Amorim sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Perivaldo Aparecido narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Alfredinho Pitta took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Ediberto Paraibano to make any attempt to save it. Ediberto Paraibano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredinho Pitta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79th match minute, BIRMINGHAM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gualter Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lino Amorim in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Perivaldo Aparecido saved BIRMINGHAM from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Paulão Trevisan put it in 1-5 from a short distance just to the right of Perivaldo Aparecido. After a rather tough play, BIRMINGHAM's Breno Valle got a free kick in the 85th minute. BIRMINGHAM's Perivaldo Aparecido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lino Amorim in the 87th minute of play. In the 89th minute, Alfredinho Pitta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. BIRMINGHAM's Rony Cardoso got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lino Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Perivaldo Aparecido having to interfere. BIRMINGHAM played a much better game than Sete Pecados Capitais and deserved their victory. The Sete Pecados Capitais players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
