The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of Curupira:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Caviuna EC:s goal. When the match had been going on for 13 minutes, Caviuna EC's Ademir Tróia got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Zé Augusto Valladares. Zé Augusto Valladares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Francisco Barral, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Cauã Braga didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chiquinho Azevedo went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score.
