Kiko Gonçalves fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 4th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. If Juarês Cordeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 21 minutes into the game, Cardozo's Juarês Cordeiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Cauã Braga made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 24th minute, Juarês Cordeiro made a precise shot to the right of Cauã Braga. Caviuna EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Cardozo's Gino de Almeida suffered a concussion after 31 minutes and had to leave the field. After 31 minutes, Renato Rosa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caviuna EC and the Cardozo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cardozo's Magno de Sousa was substituted for Gino de Almeida. In the 33rd match minute, Caviuna EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renato Rosa to maneuver through the defense. Samuel Cabral hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Cardozo's Frédson Marinho managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Augusto Mandrak in the 40 minute of the game. Cauã Braga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Cabral in the 45th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Cardozo's goalkeeper Renato Quirino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Renato Rosa.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for João Francisco Barral to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Caviuna EC's goal looked a bit too open when Juarês Cordeiro came free, but Cauã Braga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Cardozo booed when Caviuna EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thomás Velasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Caviuna EC's Jardel Freitas got a free kick in the 56th minute. Cauã Braga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jano Meira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Juarês Cordeiro struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Cauã Braga didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cardozo. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Juarês Cordeiro took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Cauã Braga to make any attempt to save it. If Frédson Marinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. João Francisco Barral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute Juarês Cordeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cauã Braga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 87 played minutes Cardozo got a freekick which was hit by Juarês Cordeiro. If Renato Rosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jano Meira during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Francisco Barral in the 92nd minute of play forced Cardozo's goalkeeper Renato Quirino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caviuna EC's João Francisco Barral got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cardozo's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
