The attack was good, but when Tiago de Castro in the 15th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After having played for 17 minutes, Anísio Botelho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Discípulos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anísio Botelho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Raí Lopez fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Discípulos FC's protests and gave Raí Lopez a yellow card for diving instead. Luiz Guilherme Soeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Vidal having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anísio Botelho got free with Tadeu de Barros in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. During the 28th minute of the match Raí Lopez completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Raí Lopez a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. 35 minutes into the game, Kauã Zanette was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Discípulos FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inesopolis the free kick. 36 minutes into the match, Discípulos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gilvan Abraão came free, but Rafael Vidal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, Luiz Guilherme Soeiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Rafael Vidal was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Discípulos FC's Rafael Vidal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilvan Abraão in the 61st minute of play. Luiz Guilherme Soeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Rafael Vidal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 69th minute, Tiago de Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute Anísio Botelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadeu de Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Discípulos FC's Anísio Botelho got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Luiz Guilherme Soeiro came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Inesopolis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Guilherme Soeiro couldn't finish the play. In the 80th minute, Gilvan Abraão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luiz Guilherme Soeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
