The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gildo Valladares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Arthur Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arthur Leão made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Juninho de Medeiros sent off a good shot on target. Arthur Leão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gildo Valladares in the 11th minute of the match. 13 minutes into the match, Nildo Neves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elivélton Magalhães. Mirary's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nildo Neves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 16 minutes into the game, Mathias Brito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mirary's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Batateira the free kick. The supporters of Batateira booed when Mirary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathias Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 24 minutes, Gildo Valladares made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Batateira's Arthur Leão tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Mathias Brito might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arthur Leão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mathias Brito ran back to his position shaking his head. Arthur Leão made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Mathias Brito sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Batateira booed when Mirary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Roberto Soares didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gildo Valladares was the one to do the kick off. Gildo Valladares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Mathias Brito's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arthur Leão was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. Olívio Goiano hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. 59 minutes into the game, Osmar Baiano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mirary's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Batateira the free kick. André Luís Miranda succeeded in the game's 72nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 4-1. Arthur Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Luís Miranda in the 78th minute of play. 80 minutes into the game, Mathias Brito cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Arthur Leão was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gildo Valladares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 84 minutes into the match, Batateira's goal looked a bit too open when André Luís Miranda came free, but Arthur Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Gildo Valladares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mirary's supporters rose to their feet, but Gildo Valladares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arthur Leão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Mirary fans' excitement grew in the 90th match minute when Mirary's André Luís Miranda looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the referee ended the match the Mirary players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
