Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frank Luz in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mané de Andrade prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mané de Andrade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Luz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frank Luz struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Mané de Andrade didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Iratinga AD. If Frank Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 43rd minute, Washington Falcão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Miguel Arruda's late challenge caught a Catole's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Miguel Arruda helped the player get up and apologised. After 94 played minutes Iratinga AD got a freekick which was hit by Miguel Arruda. Iratinga AD's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
