Paulo José Cosme helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Resende F.C booed when Ipero FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paulo José Cosme didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Carlos de Lara hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. If Dagoberto Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the game, David Pimenta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ipero FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Resende F.C the free kick. The supporters of Resende F.C booed when Ipero FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Pimenta didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Dagoberto Borges managed to get in a good position for a shot. Resende F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Dagoberto Borges was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rony Catarinense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. David Pimenta was shown his second yellow card after 32 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. Paulo José Cosme sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dráusio Recife received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Maurinho Moraes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Dráusio Recife fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ipero FC's protests and gave Dráusio Recife a yellow card for diving instead. Dráusio Recife hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. After 47 minutes of play, Resende F.C's Dagoberto Borges made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rony Catarinense was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Ipero FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Resende F.C were winning 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eurico Rodrigues to make the kick off. In the 52nd match minute, Ipero FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jairo do Valle to maneuver through the defense. If Jaime Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 66th minute, Dagoberto Borges got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 67 minutes, João Carlos de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Resende F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Carlos de Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 68th minute, Dagoberto Borges ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rony Catarinense was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. If Dagoberto Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dagoberto Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dagoberto Borges came free with the goalkeeper in the 75th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rony Catarinense could save by the left post. Rony Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jaime Guimarães in the 80th minute of play. Paulo José Cosme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Maurinho Moraes having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Paulo José Cosme got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dagoberto Borges could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 93rd minute of the match, but Rony Catarinense made a huge save. João Carlos de Lara hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Resende F.C's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
