Gabriel Lima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tiaguinho Zonta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, MAVERIK's Frederico Ferraz got control of the ball when Júlio Teles tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thomás Sarmento charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Thomás Sarmento the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 24 played minutes MAVERIK got a freekick which was hit by Thomás Sarmento. When Gabriel Lima came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Karakura FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabriel Lima couldn't finish the play. Júlio Teles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edgar Azevedo hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Remo de Godoi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Túlio Neto came out and tried to block the shot, but Remo de Godoi slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 82nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel Lima in the 89th minute of play forced MAVERIK's goalkeeper Frederico Ferraz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Osvaldinho Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The MAVERIK supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing MAVERIK would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
