After 2 played minutes INTER FC got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Alves. 5 minutes had been played when some careless play by Pejeu FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Emerson Cruz was slow to take the kick. During this time INTER FC's players had a chance to rest. Pedro Luiz Sena was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gugu Campidelis showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 7 minute of play. In the 12th match minute, Pejeu FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Carlos Teixeira to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute, INTER FC's Luiz Eduardo Cardozo dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. In the 20th minute, Emerson Cruz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The INTER FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Ricardinho Batista kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. INTER FC's Edinho Lira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovanni Amaral in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pejeu FC's goalkeeper Pedro Luiz Sena, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 32 minutes into the game, INTER FC's Luiz Eduardo Cardozo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Luiz Sena made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. 37 minutes into the game, Emerson Cruz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pedro Luiz Sena. Emerson Cruz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gugu Campidelis during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Pejeu FC booed when INTER FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gugu Campidelis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dalmo Catarinense kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. With his leg Pedro Luiz Sena managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when INTER FC's Luiz Eduardo Cardozo fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Edinho Lira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovanni Amaral, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luiz Eduardo Cardozo was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Luiz Eduardo Cardozo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Pedro Luiz Sena was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Luiz Eduardo Cardozo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Luiz Sena having to make a save. A collision led to INTER FC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Gugu Campidelis hit a great ball. INTER FC made a substitution. Luís Ferreira replaced Emerson Cruz. After 69 played minutes INTER FC got a freekick which was hit by Gugu Campidelis. Pejeu FC's Luizão Camargo got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Germano Luz in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Luiz Sena saved Pejeu FC from getting behind. After 85 played minutes INTER FC got a freekick which was hit by Hortêncio Ortiz. Pedro Luiz Sena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Germano Luz in the 87th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Germano Luz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Luiz Sena was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. In the 90th minute, INTER FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Valdo Pirani fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. When the match clock showed 94 minutes, the score became 8-0 when Germano Luz sped through Pejeu FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pedro Luiz Sena.
