After a defensive mix-up in Dark Dragons's zone, Amadeu Rodrigues stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Felipe Pires came out of the goal and Amadeu Rodrigues tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 0-1 became the score in the 6th minute when Dedé Falcão elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 11 minutes into the game, Mazinho Peres was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dark Dragons's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pubas the free kick. Mazinho Peres hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Amadeu Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Felipe Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Dark Dragons getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Laerte Almeida hit a great ball. Felipe Pires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dedé Falcão in the 20th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Laerte Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Dedé Falcão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by André Luís Motta in the 33rd minute of play forced Dark Dragons's goalkeeper Felipe Pires to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amadeu Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Felipe Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felipe Pires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amadeu Rodrigues in the 36th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Dark Dragons's Laerte Almeida got a free kick in the 40th minute. André Luz was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 41st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 43rd minute Dedé Falcão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felipe Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Amadeu Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dedé Falcão made a kick off. In the 57th minute, Dedé Falcão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. José Paulo Fernandes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauro da Mata having to interfere. The supporters of Dark Dragons booed when Pubas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Gustavo Brodel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Felipe Pires successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 76 played minutes Pubas got a freekick which was hit by Amadeu Rodrigues. Felipe Pires made an important save on a dangerous shot by Amadeu Rodrigues in the 79th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Amadeu Rodrigues could shoot a difficult shot in the 86th minute, which Felipe Pires however easily saved by the left post. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Pubas would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
