Virgílio Albuquerque might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manoel Tobias. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Virgílio Albuquerque ran back to his position shaking his head. 7 minutes into the match, Anarcos E.C's goal looked a bit too open when Lauro do Vale came free, but Manoel Tobias reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Anarcos E.C defense, Virgílio Albuquerque kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Manoel Tobias. The Anarcos E.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manoel Tobias should have stopped the shot. Manoel Tobias made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lauro do Vale in the 29th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Anarcos E.C's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dito de Salles fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alberto Sarmento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Anarcos E.C getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Sydney Leme hit a great ball. Tamboral's Lauro do Vale managed to work through Anarcos E.C's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Lauro do Vale dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. After a defensive mix-up in Anarcos E.C's zone, Virgílio Albuquerque stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manoel Tobias came out of the goal and Virgílio Albuquerque tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 55th minute, Luís Paulo Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alberto Sarmento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luizão Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Gustavo Carioca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Anarcos E.C's Sydney Leme got a free kick in the 66th minute. When Jeremias Nogueira fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Anarcos E.C's protests and gave Jeremias Nogueira a yellow card for diving instead. After 68 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Anarcos E.C! Tamboral were awarded a corner in the 71th minute after Anarcos E.C's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marquinhos Bastos took the corner. 71 minutes into the game, one of Anarcos E.C:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Tamboral a penalty, 72 minutes into the game. Alberto Sarmento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Carioca having to interfere. Luizão Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Manoel Tobias showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgílio Albuquerque in the 94th minute of the match. Tamboral's Virgílio Albuquerque got a good chance for a goal in the 100th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tamboral's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
