If Carlos Augusto de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Donato Saraiva made in the 8th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Válbson Saldanha. When Serginho Peres fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Albano's protests and gave Serginho Peres a yellow card for diving instead. In the 10th minute, Serginho Peres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Betim MZC's Zé Paulo Porto tried to score from far away in the 11th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Albano's zone, Válbson Saldanha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Braga came out of the goal and Válbson Saldanha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 14 minutes, Válbson Saldanha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Betim MZC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Válbson Saldanha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Albano's Diego Braga got control of the ball when Válbson Saldanha tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 24 minutes, Carlos Augusto de Barros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Albano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Augusto de Barros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Betim MZC's Valério Sá got a free kick in the 25th minute. With a little luck, Albano's Diego Braga got control of the ball when Válbson Saldanha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Albano's Diego Braga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Albano from getting a goal against them. When Albano's Carlos Augusto de Barros in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Betim MZC's goalie prevented a goal. Válbson Saldanha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Diego Braga made a huge save. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Augusto de Barros to make the kick off. Diego Braga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Simões, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. The supporters of Betim MZC booed when Albano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Simões didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute Edgard Simões shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diego Braga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zé Paulo Porto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Diego Braga having to make a save. After having played for 65 minutes, Válbson Saldanha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Betim MZC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Válbson Saldanha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rogério Carneiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cássio Rossi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rogério Carneiro ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlos Augusto de Barros in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cássio Rossi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Albano getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Nicolas Carvalho hit a great ball. Diego Braga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Simões, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Diego Braga came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Betim MZC's Edgard Simões. But to his dismay, Edgard Simões quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Geraldo Gomes kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. There was no doubt that Betim MZC were the better team. Betim MZC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
