The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dedé Falcão helped the player get up and apologised. If Nildo Brodel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. After a rather tough play, Pubas's Manoel Favoretto got a free kick in the 23rd minute. After 28 minutes, Eliézer Schmidt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rocheira and the Pubas players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eliézer Schmidt kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. In the 41st minute Nildo Brodel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mauro da Mata saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mauro da Mata came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Rocheira's Nildo Brodel. But to his dismay, Nildo Brodel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

After 52 minutes, Manoel Favoretto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pubas and the Rocheira players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 55 minutes of play Rocheira's Eliézer Schmidt was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Pubas booed when Rocheira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliézer Schmidt didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Agostinho Chaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amadeu Rodrigues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernani Tasso having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Amadeu Rodrigues's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hernani Tasso was relentless in the 71st minute of the game. In the 73rdth minute of the game Amadeu Rodrigues who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rocheira's Hernani Tasso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Fernandinho de Barros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rocheira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pubas the free kick. A collision led to Rocheira getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Nildo Brodel hit a great ball. Mauro da Mata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernandinho de Barros, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute. After some careless play in the Pubas defense, Mazinho Barros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mauro da Mata. The Pubas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mauro da Mata should have stopped the shot.
