Gustavo Carioca made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The supporters of Tamboral booed when Rocheira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agostinho Chaves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dito de Salles's late challenge caught a Rocheira's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dito de Salles helped the player get up and apologised. After 34 played minutes Tamboral got a freekick which was hit by Dito de Salles. Nildo Brodel scored 0-4 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gustavo Carioca, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 41 played minutes Rocheira got a freekick which was hit by Claudinho de Godoi. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Lauro do Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tamboral's supporters rose to their feet, but Lauro do Vale was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hernani Tasso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Virgílio Albuquerque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernandinho de Barros came free with the goalkeeper in the 73rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Gustavo Carioca could save by the left post. Gustavo Carioca made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Fernandinho de Barros sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Rocheira's Agostinho Chaves got a free kick in the 85th minute. Tamboral's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Nildo Brodel 89 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-6. 94 minutes into the match, Rocheira's goal looked a bit too open when Virgílio Albuquerque came free, but Hernani Tasso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
