The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rocheira's goalkeeper Hernani Tasso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Goianésia E.C getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Leopoldo Brodel hit a great ball. After having played for 28 minutes, Dráusio da Cunha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rocheira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dráusio da Cunha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Afonsinho Coelho made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Fernandinho de Barros sent off a good shot on target. When the match clock showed 33 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Pedro Augusto Neto sped through Rocheira's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hernani Tasso. After some careless play in the Rocheira defense, Fred Penha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hernani Tasso. The Rocheira fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hernani Tasso should have stopped the shot. 47 minutes into the game, Agostinho Chaves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rocheira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Goianésia E.C the free kick. In the 47th minute, Agostinho Chaves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nildo Brodel made a kick off. Pedro Augusto Neto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hernani Tasso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Fred Penha kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hernani Tasso. That made the score 0-4 in the 54 minute of play. After having played for 57 minutes, Pedro Augusto Neto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Goianésia E.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Augusto Neto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luan Gerber kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. When Benjamin Mattos came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Goianésia E.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Mattos couldn't finish the play. The Goianésia E.C fans' excitement grew in the 63rd match minute when Goianésia E.C's Pedro Augusto Neto looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Goianésia E.C's Benjamin Mattos got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Pedro Augusto Neto had several of the Rocheira's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 67 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-6 score and a disappointed Hernani Tasso as he didn't even see the shot coming. Pedro Augusto Neto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Hernani Tasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Rocheira's goalkeeper Hernani Tasso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 75th play minutes Pedro Augusto Neto shot 0-7, a short shot which went by Hernani Tasso and just under the crossbar into goal. Marcelo Meirelles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Agostinho Chaves was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 79 minutes had been played. In the 80th minute, Agostinho Chaves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82ndth minute of the game Pedro Augusto Neto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rocheira's Hernani Tasso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Rocheira getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Luan Gerber hit a great ball. Pedro Augusto Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 91 minutes into the game, one of Rocheira:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Iggor Koehler struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Hernani Tasso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goianésia E.C.
