Aírton Lucas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernani Tasso having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fernandinho de Barros was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Coco AD booed when Rocheira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agostinho Chaves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Aírton Lucas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hernani Tasso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fernando Torres in the 61st minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Rocheira's Agostinho Chaves slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eriberto Vieira. That made the score 2-2 after 67 minutes of play. Eriberto Vieira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernandinho de Barros in the 70th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eliézer Schmidt during the 72nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After having played for 74 minutes, Dênis Siqueira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Coco AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dênis Siqueira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Luiz Fernando Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 95th minute Matheus Falcão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernani Tasso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
