When Dedé Falcão fell near the penalty area in the 24th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pubas's protests and gave Dedé Falcão a yellow card for diving instead. Manuel Goiano hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. In the 29thth minute of the game Benjamin Mattos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pubas's Mauro da Mata was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Benjamin Mattos's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 31stth minute, Mauro da Mata skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Dedé Falcão got his second yellow card in the match during the 34th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Mauro da Mata breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 72 minutes into the match, Goianésia E.C's goal looked a bit too open when Manoel Favoretto came free, but Afonsinho Coelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute, Raúl Vieira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 93 minutes of play, Goianésia E.C's Benjamin Mattos made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mauro da Mata was left in no man's land by his defense there! There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Goianésia E.C fully deserved thier win.
