An unexpectedly hard shot by José Carlos de Alcântara in the 9th minute of play forced Lokomotiv Fc's goalkeeper Walmir Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Chiquinho Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chateaubriand's supporters rose to their feet, but Chiquinho Marinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Walmir Reis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jailson Barral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 26 minutes into the game, João Vítor Bueno recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Walmir Reis. João Vítor Bueno showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jailson Barral in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Isaltino Rossi saved Chateaubriand from getting behind. Lenílson Cruz hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Walmir Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Carlos de Alcântara in the 46th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and João Vítor Bueno made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chiquinho Marinho in the 54th minute of play forced Lokomotiv Fc's goalkeeper Walmir Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 60 minutes, Elivélton Meireles mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chateaubriand and the Lokomotiv Fc players grew even worse after the yellow card. Denílson Bittencourt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Walmir Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Carlos de Alcântara in the 65th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elivélton Meireles in the 68th minute of play forced Lokomotiv Fc's goalkeeper Walmir Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chateaubriand were awarded a corner in the 70th minute after Lokomotiv Fc's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rodrigo Vidal took the corner. Alberto Carvalho made a great header on Chateaubriand's corner, it was just that Lokomotiv Fc's Walmir Reis managed to reach the ball for a save. If Denílson Bittencourt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Walmir Reis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jailson Barral got free with Isaltino Rossi in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Chateaubriand fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lokomotiv Fc had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
