The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Zé Pedro Lucas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Dias in the 3rd minute of the match. Zé Pedro Lucas made a fantastic save in the 9th minute, when Amadeu Maciel sent off a good shot on target. Zé Pedro Lucas came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Vasco da Gama Clube's Manuel Dias. But to his dismay, Manuel Dias quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Christiano Gaspar charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Christiano Gaspar the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Itapeacu's Christiano Gaspar got a free kick in the 15th minute. Fiori Rocha, 16 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Zé Pedro Lucas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Dias in the 24th minute of the match. The supporters of Vasco da Gama Clube booed when Itapeacu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucas Mendes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Régis Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Marquez, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. When Fiori Rocha fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vasco da Gama Clube's protests and gave Fiori Rocha a yellow card for diving instead. In the 36th minute, Manuel Dias fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Régis Moreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Perivaldo Donatello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 43rdth minute of the game Manuel Dias who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itapeacu's Zé Pedro Lucas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Christiano Gaspar hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Perivaldo Donatello to make the kick off. Amadeu Maciel hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Manuel Dias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lucas Mendes charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lucas Mendes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Leonel Moreira's late challenge caught a Itapeacu's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Leonel Moreira helped the player get up and apologised. Severino Domingues, 60 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Perivaldo Donatello got free with Régis Moreira in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Amadeu Maciel in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zé Pedro Lucas saved Itapeacu from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Lucas Mendes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itapeacu's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucas Mendes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Régis Moreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Zé Pedro Lucas came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by Vasco da Gama Clube's Amadeu Maciel. But to his dismay, Amadeu Maciel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Perivaldo Donatello took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Régis Moreira. Régis Moreira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. After having played for 89 minutes, Perivaldo Donatello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapeacu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Perivaldo Donatello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 95th minute, Pedro Marquez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
