When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nelson Cerezo to make the kick off. But to his dismay, Germano Paraibano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. Tony Freire took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Fernando Pinheiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Silas Pena was shown his second yellow card after 92 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Sarutaia SC getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Silas Pena hit a great ball. Corinthians sp's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
