Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Dadá Linares kicked off to start the match. Tony Freire made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Teodoro Senna sent off a good shot on target. Tony Freire was out of position in the 10 minute of play, and Eliézer Queirós capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Eliézer Queirós really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dadá Linares in the 14th minute of play forced Corinthians sp's goalkeeper Tony Freire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 17thth minute of the game Dadá Linares who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Corinthians sp's Tony Freire was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Mate booed when Corinthians sp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 24 minutes, Silas de Amorim mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Corinthians sp and the Mate players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Mate booed when Corinthians sp was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Silas de Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jorge Tróia's late challenge caught a Corinthians sp's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorge Tróia helped the player get up and apologised. Nelson Cerezo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 范谦伟 having to interfere. After 29 minutes, Nelson Cerezo made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Mate's 范谦伟 tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Nelson Cerezo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 34 minutes, Tony Freire successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Tony Freire made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lauro Moreira in the 37th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nelson Cerezo in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck 范谦伟 prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
Tony Freire made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dadá Linares in the 53rd minute of play. After 55 minutes of play, Corinthians sp's Nelson Cerezo made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. 范谦伟 was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Gugu Recife had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lauro Moreira scored 2-2 in the 66th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tony Freire, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gugu Recife in the 73rd minute of play forced Mate's goalkeeper 范谦伟 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mate's 范谦伟 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gugu Recife in the 82nd minute of play. In the 89th minute, Rodrigo Carioca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Tróia in the 94th minute of play forced Corinthians sp's goalkeeper Tony Freire to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. During the 95th minute of the match Silas de Amorim completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Silas de Amorim a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
