Filipe de Andrade succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 4th playminute. APCV's Artur Salgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rony Paes in the 11th minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 14th minute of the game. One of APCV:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tabuleirao:s goal. In the 16th minute there was a penalty for Tabuleirao. Wellington Moreno stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Artur Salgado. 1-1. Artur Salgado came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Tabuleirao's Silvinho Ferreira. But to his dismay, Silvinho Ferreira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Otávio Bastos in the 26th minute of play forced Tabuleirao's goalkeeper Dida Medeiros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 28 played minutes APCV got a freekick which was hit by Hudson Mello. Ramiro Mello struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Artur Salgado didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tabuleirao. When the match clock showed 31 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Rony Paes sped through APCV's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Artur Salgado. In the 39th minute Rony Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emanuel Cosme kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Zé Paulo Baiano stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to APCV getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Zé Paulo Baiano hit a great ball. 52 minutes into the match, APCV's goalkeeper Artur Salgado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rony Paes. Isaltino Vasconcelos made in the 55th minute of the game a quick throw-in and William Tande immediately put the ball in play. In the 60th match minute, APCV was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filipe de Andrade to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to APCV getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Vinícius Pitta hit a great ball. After 70 minutes, Rony Paes made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. APCV's Artur Salgado tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Rony Paes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Artur Salgado. That made the score 1-5 in the 76 minute of play. 81 minutes into the game, Isaltino Vasconcelos threw the ball into play from the sideline. Tabuleirao's Adalberto Toledo quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After a rather tough play, APCV's Vinícius Pitta got a free kick in the 85th minute. Ramiro Mello might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Artur Salgado. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ramiro Mello ran back to his position shaking his head. Wellington Moreno could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Artur Salgado made a huge save. If Ramiro Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Tabuleirao getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Adalberto Toledo hit a great ball. William Tande took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 94th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dida Medeiros. Tabuleirao's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Emanuel Cosme hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match.
