Válter Aguiar's late challenge caught a Old Glory's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Válter Aguiar helped the player get up and apologised. In the 42nd minute, Válter Aguiar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alexsandro Meireles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Albertinho Sampaio got his second yellow card in the match during the 47th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. With an all-out effort, Old Glory's José Pedro Alves threw himself towards the right post 62 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mário Lago, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. If Mário Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Old Glory fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that João Carlos Carvalho should have stopped the shot. João Carlos Carvalho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Old Glory's Mário Lago got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Manfredo Dracena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Válter Aguiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Carlos Carvalho having to interfere. Adhemar Castro charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adhemar Castro the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Old Glory getting a freekick after 96 minutes play. Adhemar Castro hit a great ball. Válter Aguiar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. João Carlos Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. For all the effort they put into the match, the Old Glory players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for °CuzetaFC°®.
