Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Valdir Paraibano in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Gustavo de Almeida prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 17th minute, Mateus de Medeiros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramiro Senna in the 22nd minute of play forced Faro AD's goalkeeper Arí Tróia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute Valério Guerra shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gustavo de Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Luís Paulo Maciel fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Flamengo VM's protests and gave Luís Paulo Maciel a yellow card for diving instead. Luís Paulo Maciel hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After 34 played minutes Flamengo VM got a freekick which was hit by Bedir Zor. After a rather tough play, Flamengo VM's Bedir Zor got a free kick in the 37th minute. In the 41st minute of the match Cacá Toledo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gustavo de Almeida showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kiko Amaral stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kiko Amaral received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gustavo de Almeida came out and tried to block the shot, but Kiko Amaral slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 54th minute. Kiko Amaral sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Flamengo VM's Gustavo de Almeida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Flamengo VM from getting a goal against them. Gustavo de Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valério Guerra in the 63rd minute of play. Cacá Toledo kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the match, Ramiro Senna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Arí Tróia. Faro AD's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ramiro Senna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Valdir Paraibano got free with Gustavo de Almeida in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kiko Amaral in the 79th minute of play forced Flamengo VM's goalkeeper Gustavo de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valdir Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Gustavo de Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gustavo de Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kiko Amaral in the 96th minute of the match.
