With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tarcisio Marques in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rubens Batista saved Tubarão EC from getting behind. If Silvério Amorim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Catadupas's André Pires got control of the ball when Mauro Ferreira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rodolfo Mesquita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Batista having to interfere. After 36 minutes of play Catadupas's Eduardo Loureiro was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 37 played minutes Catadupas got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Loureiro. If Mauro Ferreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rubens Batista didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rodolfo Mesquita went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ediberto Gaspar made a kick off. After 56 played minutes Tubarão EC got a freekick which was hit by Gilvan Miranda. 59 minutes into the match, Tubarão EC's Ediberto Gaspar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that André Pires narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gilvan Miranda charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Rubens Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dito Figueiredo in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 64thth minute of the game Rodolfo Mesquita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tubarão EC's Rubens Batista was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fausto Guimarães hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Rodolfo Mesquita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Rubens Batista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Rodolfo Mesquita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catadupas's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodolfo Mesquita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rubens Batista breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rubens Batista was a little too slow when Rodolfo Mesquita got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 81st minute. The score was now 0-3. In the 92nd minute Rodolfo Mesquita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rubens Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Catadupas played a much better game than Tubarão EC and deserved their victory. The Tubarão EC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
