Fernando Cardoso succeeded in the game's 24th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-3. Reginaldo Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernandão de Lima, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Real Alvinegro FC defense, Fernandão de Lima kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reginaldo Amaral. The Real Alvinegro FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reginaldo Amaral should have stopped the shot. Reynaldo Sampaio hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Carlos Fernando Pires took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 46th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Reginaldo Amaral. Real Alvinegro FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 47th minute, Sandro Saldanha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomé Silva to make the kick off. Sandro Saldanha was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 55 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Real Alvinegro FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 54th minute. Penalty! The goalkeeper, Reginaldo Amaral, was totally fooled by Tijucal FC's Carlos Fernando Pires, who 57 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Reginaldo Amaral didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Maurício Miranda went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-7 was the resulting score. If Jean Salles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vinícius Loyola's late challenge caught a Tijucal FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vinícius Loyola helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Real Alvinegro FC getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Vinícius Loyola hit a great ball. In the 73rd match minute, Tijucal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean Salles to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maurício Miranda got free with Reginaldo Amaral in the 77th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Oséas Berger could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Reginaldo Amaral made a huge save. In the 86th minute Fernando Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reginaldo Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
