After 16 minutes of play, Tijucal FC's Maurício Miranda made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rubens Batista was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bahadır Serbülend was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ediberto Gaspar showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 19 minute of play. If Cristóvão Rosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the game, Fernando Cardoso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Rubens Batista was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 39 minutes into the match, Maurício Miranda notched a goal, 1-4, to the right of Tubarão EC's Rubens Batista. Rubens Batista was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Maurício Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Batista having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, Tubarão EC's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Cardoso came free, but Rubens Batista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Oséas Berger succeeded in the game's 52nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-5. Tijucal FC's Fernando Cardoso got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 61 minutes into the match, Tubarão EC's goalkeeper Rubens Batista had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernandão de Lima. Rubens Batista came out of the goal in the 63rd minute to try and stop a shot by Tijucal FC's Oséas Berger. But to his dismay, Oséas Berger quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-6. Tubarão EC's Rubens Batista played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oséas Berger in the 66th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Tijucal FC's Oséas Berger slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rubens Batista. That made the score 1-7 after 67 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oséas Berger in the 72nd minute of play forced Tubarão EC's goalkeeper Rubens Batista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rubens Batista made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Simão Meira sent off a good shot on target. Rubens Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oséas Berger in the 74th minute of the match. Maurício Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rubens Batista yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-9. When Fernando Cardoso came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Tijucal FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Cardoso couldn't finish the play. After 89th play minutes Maurício Miranda shot 1-10, a short shot which went by Rubens Batista and just under the crossbar into goal. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Tijucal FC's Fernando Cardoso in the 93rd minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Rubens Batista was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Tubarão EC through an amazing save. When the match was over Tijucal FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tubarão EC throughout the match.
