Palmeiras's Jonas Soares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oséas Berger in the 71st minute of play. Otávio Matorin kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. Mário Faria got his second yellow card in the match during the 80th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. When Rony Monteiro fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palmeiras's protests and gave Rony Monteiro a yellow card for diving instead. After 97 played minutes Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Rony Monteiro. Tijucal FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
