Flamengo VM's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palmeiras the free kick. A collision led to Flamengo VM getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Sidney Rosado hit a great ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ramiro Senna to make the kick off. Cláudio Coelho kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Delfim Furlan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 64th match minute, Flamengo VM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bedir Zor to maneuver through the defense. Adriano de Queiroz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Flamengo VM's Gustavo de Almeida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Flamengo VM from getting a goal against them. Mathias Barral's shot from long distance in the 71st minute was not bad at all, but Flamengo VM's Gustavo de Almeida knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. A collision led to Flamengo VM getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Bedir Zor hit a great ball. Gustavo de Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adriano de Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marquinhos Toledo hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Adriano de Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Palmeiras were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
