With a little luck, Cotias's Eurico Monteiro got control of the ball when Eriberto de Castro tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Elano Trigo got free with Eurico Monteiro in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eurico Monteiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elano Trigo in the 20th minute. Eurico Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cesinha Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eriberto de Castro got free with Eurico Monteiro in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 33rd minute, Sirinhaem's Eriberto de Castro ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Eurico Monteiro. Eurico Monteiro yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. In the 42nd minute, Elano Trigo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Eurico Monteiro. The goal made the score 4-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eriberto de Castro got free with Eurico Monteiro in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eurico Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesinha Gonçalves in the 47th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Elano Trigo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eurico Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renatinho Salgado in the 53rd minute of the match. 56 minutes into the game, Sirinhaem's Cesinha Gonçalves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eurico Monteiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Eurico Monteiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dário Sergipano, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Eurico Monteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renatinho Salgado in the 63rd minute of the match. Cesinha Gonçalves might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Eurico Monteiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cesinha Gonçalves ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Cotias defense, Eriberto de Castro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eurico Monteiro. The Cotias fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eurico Monteiro should have stopped the shot. 73 minutes into the match, Cotias's goal looked a bit too open when Cesinha Gonçalves came free, but Eurico Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 80 minutes, Donato Della Rocca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cotias and the Sirinhaem players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Sirinhaem booed when Cotias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donato Della Rocca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cotias's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dário Sergipano was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. Eurico Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elano Trigo in the 95th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Sirinhaem fully deserved thier win.
