Marquinhos Toledo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kiko Amaral scored 0-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonas Soares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Adriano de Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palmeiras's supporters rose to their feet, but Adriano de Queiroz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Valdir Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonas Soares having to interfere. Valdir Paraibano took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonas Soares. Jonas Soares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Valdir Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Jonas Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th match minute, Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastião Costa to maneuver through the defense. Jonas Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kiko Amaral in the 78th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kiko Amaral in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonas Soares saved Palmeiras from getting behind. When Maurinho Capixaba fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palmeiras's protests and gave Maurinho Capixaba a yellow card for diving instead. Maurinho Capixaba kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Abel Marinho sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Palmeiras's Jonas Soares didn't even have to move. Kiko Amaral received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonas Soares came out and tried to block the shot, but Kiko Amaral slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 87th minute. In the 91st minute, Maurinho Capixaba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonas Soares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kiko Amaral went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Valdir Paraibano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Jonas Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Faro AD played a much better game than Palmeiras and deserved their victory. The Palmeiras players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
