Gustavo de Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elano Trigo in the 9th minute of the match. Sidney Rosado kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. When Luís Paulo Maciel came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Flamengo VM fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Paulo Maciel couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Sirinhaem booed when Flamengo VM was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bedir Zor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elano Trigo struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Gustavo de Almeida didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sirinhaem. A collision led to Sirinhaem getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Cauan Teles hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Flamengo VM's zone, Elano Trigo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo de Almeida came out of the goal and Elano Trigo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Ronaldo Bezerra fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sirinhaem's protests and gave Ronaldo Bezerra a yellow card for diving instead. After 26 played minutes Sirinhaem got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldo Bezerra. In the 28th match minute, Flamengo VM was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cláudio Coelho to maneuver through the defense. Zé Augusto Recife received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Kleanthis Variamidis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cesinha Gonçalves in the 42nd minute of play forced Flamengo VM's goalkeeper Gustavo de Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute of the match Renatinho Salgado shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gustavo de Almeida showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

After a defensive mix-up in Flamengo VM's zone, Cesinha Gonçalves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gustavo de Almeida came out of the goal and Cesinha Gonçalves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gustavo de Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cesinha Gonçalves in the 66th minute of play. Cesinha Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo de Almeida having to interfere. 71 minutes into the match, Flamengo VM's goalkeeper Gustavo de Almeida had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elano Trigo. In the 73rd minute of the match, Elano Trigo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gustavo de Almeida was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 76th minute, Zé Augusto Recife got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ronaldo Bezerra got his second yellow card in the match during the 77th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 85 played minutes Flamengo VM got a freekick which was hit by Jeremias de Sena. Cesinha Gonçalves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sirinhaem were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Flamengo VM to leave the ground with a draw.
