Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tarcisio Marques started the match with the kick off. Marquinhos Toledo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without André Pires having to interfere. Fausto Guimarães kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. André Pires was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Mathias Barral. 9 minutes into the match, Catadupas's goal looked a bit too open when Adriano de Queiroz came free, but André Pires reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marquinhos Toledo came free with the goalkeeper in the 12th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and André Pires could save by the left post. After some careless play in the Catadupas defense, Otávio Matorin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of André Pires. The Catadupas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that André Pires should have stopped the shot. After 17 played minutes Catadupas got a freekick which was hit by Fausto Guimarães. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Rodolfo Mesquita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Catadupas's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodolfo Mesquita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonas Soares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 26th match minute, Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurinho Capixaba to maneuver through the defense. Marquinhos Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. André Pires tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Catadupas's Betinho Gonçalves got a free kick in the 39th minute. In the 42nd minute Adriano de Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Catadupas's André Pires proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Catadupas from getting a goal against them. Catadupas's André Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adriano de Queiroz in the 44th minute of play. André Pires made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sebastião Costa in the 48th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Adriano de Queiroz was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute, Adriano de Queiroz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. André Pires was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. 61 minutes into the match, Catadupas's Rodolfo Mesquita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonas Soares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 62 played minutes Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Otávio Matorin. Marquinhos Toledo scored 4-0 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of André Pires, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 68th minute Adriano de Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but André Pires saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. André Pires took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otávio Matorin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dito Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Jonas Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. André Pires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano de Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Marquinhos Toledo charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marquinhos Toledo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 85th minute, Marquinhos Toledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. André Pires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano de Queiroz, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. After a rather tough play, Catadupas's Tarcisio Marques got a free kick in the 91st minute. Catadupas's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
