Spectators: 7163 (Terracing: 5663, Seating: 1400, VIP seats: 100) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Waldemar Dionísio got the match started through his kick off. Fernandinho Barbosa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Waldemar Dionísio's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. In the 4th match minute, Leão 1918 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Silveira to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Leão 1918 booed when Patcha FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benê Pinheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Naldo Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgílio Pena, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. After 15 played minutes Leão 1918 got a freekick which was hit by Wilton Moreno. Geovani Ferraz charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Geovani Ferraz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Perivaldo Guimarães in the 19th minute of play forced Patcha FC's goalkeeper Naldo Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute, Perivaldo Guimarães hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benê Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Leão 1918's João Silveira got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 29 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Perivaldo Guimarães sped through Patcha FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Naldo Mendes. If Waldemar Dionísio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the game, Enéas Pontes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Patcha FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Leão 1918 the free kick. Enéas Pontes kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Perivaldo Guimarães in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Naldo Mendes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Perivaldo Guimarães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leão 1918's supporters rose to their feet, but Perivaldo Guimarães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Naldo Mendes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 41st minute, João Silveira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 45 in the game by Waldemar Dionísio from a close distance when the talented Fernandinho Barbosa managed to make a qualified save. Leão 1918's players were relieved. 48 minutes into the match, Leão 1918's goal looked a bit too open when Waldemar Dionísio came free, but Fernandinho Barbosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Leão 1918 were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

52 minutes into the game, Giuseppe Ribeiro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Patcha FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Leão 1918 the free kick. In the 52nd minute, Giuseppe Ribeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 53 played minutes Leão 1918 got a freekick which was hit by Wilton Moreno. Geovani Ferraz kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. 59 minutes into the match, Léo Gomes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Fernandinho Barbosa. Leão 1918's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Léo Gomes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Waldemar Dionísio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandinho Barbosa having to interfere. When Léo Gomes came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Patcha FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Léo Gomes couldn't finish the play. Waldemar Dionísio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If João Silveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Waldemar Dionísio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fernandinho Barbosa was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. After 70 played minutes Leão 1918 got a freekick which was hit by João Silveira. Perivaldo Guimarães's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 75thth minute, Naldo Mendes skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Patcha FC's Waldemar Dionísio in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Leão 1918's goalie prevented a goal. Fernandinho Barbosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldemar Dionísio in the 85th minute of the match. Léo Gomes scored 2-2 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fernandinho Barbosa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 89 minutes, João Silveira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Leão 1918 and the Patcha FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. João Silveira kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Fernandinho Barbosa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Léo Gomes in the 93rd minute of play. In the 96th minute, José Augusto de Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
