The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rodolfo Meira really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 10 minutes into the match, Patcha FC's goalkeeper Naldo Mendes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodolfo Meira. Luisão Viannas short, quick shot in the 13thth minute got Naldo Mendes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 15thth minute of the game Waldemar Dionísio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Flamengo Clube de Regatas's Ivo Melo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luisão Vianna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Naldo Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Flamengo Clube de Regatas's zone, Waldemar Dionísio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ivo Melo came out of the goal and Waldemar Dionísio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Naldo Mendes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Meira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Naldo Mendes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eusebio Txurio, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. In the 35th match minute, Patcha FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Giuseppe Ribeiro to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 36 minutes, João Francisco Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Flamengo Clube de Regatas's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Francisco Nascimento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Naldo Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodolfo Meira in the 41st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luisão Vianna got free with Naldo Mendes in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a little luck, Patcha FC's Naldo Mendes got control of the ball when Rodolfo Meira tried to sneak it across the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luisão Vianna to strike the kick off in the second half. Patcha FC's Naldo Mendes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luisão Vianna in the 51st minute of play. 53 minutes into the game, Rodolfo Meira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Naldo Mendes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldemar Dionísio in the 59th minute of play forced Flamengo Clube de Regatas's goalkeeper Ivo Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 63rd play minutes Waldemar Dionísio shot 2-1, a short shot which went by Ivo Melo and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 66th match minute, Patcha FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovani Ferraz to maneuver through the defense. After 68 played minutes Flamengo Clube de Regatas got a freekick which was hit by Luisão Vianna. In the 70th minute, Luisão Vianna ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Naldo Mendes was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. 73 minutes into the game, Eusebio Txurio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Naldo Mendes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Luisão Vianna's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Naldo Mendes was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Naldo Mendes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rodolfo Meira in the 78th minute of the match. Waldemar Dionísio hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. Waldemar Dionísio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
