The coaching staff of Parahiba AD protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jorge Paraíba had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In a very dangerous position, a player in Parahiba AD fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 25th minute. Penalty! Valdomiro do Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito Castro having to interfere. Tales Vaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute, Rubinho de Toledo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rubinho Falcão made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Magno de Amorim sent off a good shot on target. Magno de Amorim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Rubinho Falcão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a rather tough play, Parahiba AD's Magno de Amorim got a free kick in the 51st minute. Breno Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Breno Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito Castro having to interfere. After 58 played minutes Parahiba AD got a freekick which was hit by Dinei de Sena. Parahiba AD's Benedito Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Humberto Mineiro in the 73rd minute of play. Raimundo Soares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Parahiba AD's Nildo Andrade got a free kick in the 94th minute. A hard shot 97 in the game by Breno Fonseca from a close distance when the talented Benedito Castro managed to make a qualified save. Parahiba AD's players were relieved.
